Author: Temitope Popoola A 35-year-old man identified as Bolaji Ojo has landed in court – The man was arraigned before a Badagry chief magistrate’s court for punching a hawker and removing her teeth A woman identified as Mrs blessing Ndive was allegedly assaulted by Bolaji Ojo, a 35-year-old man who punched off one of her teeth over two loaves of bread. As a result of this, Ojo was arraigned before a chief magistrate court in Badagry, Lagos state. Akpan Ikem, the police prosecutor informed the court about the offence of the accused who is being tried for assault. The ugly incident which landed Ojo in court was said to have happened on Tuesday, May 9 at 6, Eze-Obi Etegbin in Ajangbadi area of Badagry. Ikem shed more light on the case as he narrated what transpired between the duo before the punches that led to the removal of the tooth came into play. Blessing objected to it and led to him dealing with her using punches. Ojo was said to have beaten the woman to a point where one of her teeth removed. Had it not been for the intervention of the onlookers, Ojo could have inflicted more physical wounds on her. This offence violates some section of the 2015 revised criminal law of Lagos state. This section also gives seven years to the offenders. He was also asked to provide sureties who must have evidence showing they pay tax to Lagos state government. The case was adjourned till Tuesday, June 6 by Jimoh Adefioye, the chief magistrate.
